Recognizing that the instruction of these students is going to require a specialized approach, Teaching Work Skills is looking for those with a passion for teaching in a classroom/workshop setting. We are looking for males, females, or couples to help us teach victims of domestic and/or sexual violence various skills sets. We are looking for people who have the knowledge and patience to teach what they know to people who have an interest in learning how. Are you that person who is well versed in repair, maintenance, sewing, etc. who can also effectively impart that knowledge onto a group of students who have little-no exposure to the tools, materials, terms, etc?

We are not looking for PHD’s, just instructors/volunteers who can take simple tasks and show others how they can be completed. And we understand the HOW can be different, because very often there are multiple ways to accomplish the same task. Curriculum¬† guidelines will be provided for all classes.

We are looking for instructors in the following fields:

  • Handtool 101 and 102
  • Sewing/Textiles
  • Home Repair/Maintenance
  • Home Security and Fire Safety
  • Pre-Apprenticeship
  • Painting 101 and 102
  • Pre-Employment Coaching

If you have these skills, and would like to volunteer your time for an extremely worthy cause, we’d love to hear from you.¬† Please contact us at by using the form below or contact us directly at info@teachingworkskills.org
